Looking for a local pumpkin patch, corn maze, hayride, gourds and other
Halloween activities in Carroll and Frederick Counties? Scroll down this page and you will see the
all of those in Carroll and Frederick Counties, sorted by county. Some are
farms, where you take a hay ride out into the field, others are elaborate farm
stands with mountains of pumpkins and other activities and some are simple
roadside stands. Most have loads of pumpkins to choose from. To really make it
fun for your kids, look for those that have the extra activities, like a corn
maze, spook house, or hayride. There is usually a small fee for the mazes (of
course, the more elaborate mazes tend to charge more. Hayrides are often free.

Fall Harvest Days - mule and
tractor pulled wagon rides, apple butter making, music, crafts,
artisans, demonstrations, scarecrow making

Saturday and Sunday in early or mid-October 10 am to 5pmeach day.
Traditional autumn activities such as stuffing a lifesize
scarecrow and
old-time games. The Mason/ Dixon Historical Society will demonstrate
shelling and threshing with old-time steam engines. Admission cost is $5
for adults; $3 for ages 7-18 and 60 and older; age 6 and under are free
with paying
adult. The festival also features guided Farmhouse tours; the Living
History Center, exhibit buildings, and the Museum Gift Shop will be
open. Artisans, which may include blacksmiths, tinsmiths, spinners,
weavers, quilters, etc., will demonstrate old-time skills. There will be
a large variety of delicious country
foods for sale and many craft vendors will have beautiful hand-crafted
items to purchase. Continuous on-stage entertainment all day will
feature country and bluegrass music.

The pony ride was a dollar or two. The corn box was set up more as

in it and swim around. Althou gh a small toddler or two could plop on
in. Still very fun. There are animals in the pictures on facebook, but
I do remember if they were available for petting or viewing."

Pumpkin Patch
The pumpkin patch is open from 10 am – 6 pm every day with over 12
acres of beautiful pumpkins! See the Hayride Schedule below! Pumpkins IN 2022 are $.65 per pound over 5 pounds, $3.50
each 2-5 pounds and $2.00 each under 2 pounds.
Apple Orchard
Pick Your Own Apples are available on weekends in September and October. Pre-picked
apples are available in the Farm Market daily.
Pick your own apples at Gaver Farm! Pick apples from the farm’s beautifully trellised apple trees-
grown so you can easily pick without the use of ladders. Varieties available include Blondee, Buckeye, Ultra Gold, Crimson Crisp, Empire, Cameo and
Fuji (bolded varieties are what we are picking NOW). The Orchard is OPEN on fall Saturdays and Sundays from 10 am to 6 pm.
Purchase a peck (in
2022, $25) or half bushel (in 2022, $40) bag in the Farm Market, Admission Barn or Apple Orchard entrance. You may only enter the orchard if you have
purchased a bag, limit 4 people per bag. Kids under 2 are not included in 4 person limit. Up to 2 additional pickers are permitted per bag (in 2022,
$2 per person) at the entrance to the Apple Orchard.

Maryland Pumpkin Festival held this October 11-12 at Summers Farm in
Frederick, Maryland. The weekend features our themed corn maze,
pumpkin patch, hay rides, jumping pillows, homemade pumpkin and apple
cider donuts, as well as live entertainment, pie eating contests, free
